NIKE ART GALLERY

Founded by artist and cultural matriarch Nike Monica Okundaye, Nike Art Gallery is one of the most comprehensive repositories of Nigerian and African art anywhere in the country. The five-story building in Lekki houses more than 8,000 works including paintings, textiles, and sculptures arranged floor to ceiling. Apprentices learn batik, beadwork, and painting on site, and visitors can wander freely through the unapologetically abundant collection. The gallery exists to ensure every artwork speaks for its maker.

LEKKI CONSERVATION CENTRE

A 78-hectare nature reserve established in 1990, Lekki Conservation Centre is home to the longest canopy walkway in Africa. The reserve preserves indigenous flora and fauna with wetlands, savanna, and thick vegetation, providing habitat for monkeys, birds, crocodiles, and monitor lizards. The famous 401-meter suspended walkway offers panoramic views of the Lagos skyline and a thrilling perspective on the rainforest canopy. The centre also features a treehouse, picnic spots, and an auditorium.

TERRA KULTURE

Founded in 2003 by Bolanle Austen-Peters, Terra Kulture has become one of Lagos' engines for preserving and modernizing Nigerian heritage. The gallery component is part of a larger ecosystem that includes a theater, bookstore, and performance spaces. It has hosted hundreds of exhibitions, plays, and literary events, many spotlighting emerging talent. Terra Kulture also operates one of Nigeria's few art auction houses. For visitors, it offers context: art seen not in isolation, but alongside language, history, and performance.

RELE ART GALLERY

Founded in 2010 by Adenrele Sonariwo, Rele Gallery built its reputation through pop-up exhibitions, art salons, and installations before opening a permanent space in Onikan in 2015. The gallery has become a magnet for young artists, collectors, and cultural observers. Its strength lies in its responsiveness to trends, pop culture, and the visual language of a digitally native generation. Mentorship and collaboration are central, and exhibitions often feel experimental. Rele has expanded its presence globally with locations in Los Angeles and London.

LUFASI NATURE PARK

LUFASI (Lekki Urban Forestry and Animal Shelter Initiative) was established in 2013 as an NGO dedicated to preserving natural habitats and providing a sanctuary for rescued wildlife. The 20-hectare park is home to the 200-year-old "Iron Wood" Ekki Tree, a rare species whose wood is resistant to fire, pests, and decay. Lake Moses, an artificial pond, offers breathtaking views. The park features nature trails, a children's play area, and animals including tortoises and donkeys. It provides a serene escape from Lagos' hustle with sip-and-paint activities and refreshments available.
